This unique opportunity allowed me to support them from the initial real estate search to the final reveal, transforming the space into a home that truly reflects their style, story, and needs.

These first-time home buyers reached out to us to help them search for the perfect house in Rensselaer County
Their were looking for a 4–5 bedroom house to accommodate their extended family, one they could personalize through a thoughtful home renovation that balanced function and style.
Eventually, we toured a home that showed real potential—with solid bones and the opportunity to open up the layout, refresh the bathrooms, and tackle a full kitchen remodel. It was the perfect canvas for their vision.
This full gut renovation was a collaborative effort involving more than 10 subcontractors.
This created a logistical puzzle that required precision. We began with a detailed scope of work outlining every aspect of this home renovation, knowing some items might shift along the way.
The initial budget created a solid foundation for achieving the clients’ primary goals, and a phased approach allowed us to evaluate progress, manage change orders, and make thoughtful decisions as new ideas emerged.

This includes working directly with the local building department, hiring and coordinating subcontractors across all trades, designing and customizing floor plans, selecting finishes and fixtures, and overseeing the entire construction process.For this renovation, that comprehensive service was essential. With so many specialized tasks happening simultaneously, our role extended beyond project management—we became the central hub connecting every moving part. By coordinating communication between trades, tracking progress, and ensuring materials arrived on time, we kept the project moving efficiently and aligned with the client’s vision.

As with most renovations, unexpected challenges arose—but through proactive communication and detailed oversight, we navigated each one seamlessly.
The removal of the chimney took longer than anticipated, which delayed some flooring installation and set off a ripple effect for other trades. Rather than rushing, we focused on sequencing adjustments that kept progress efficient and preserved completed work. Open dialogue between our team, contractors, and clients ensured every decision supported the overall timeline and design intent.
Additionally, midway through the full-gut renovation, the clients chose to expand their investment to include upgraded finishes and additional design elements.
Our phased planning made it easy to accommodate these changes without disrupting the flow of the project. By reassessing priorities and reallocating resources, we stayed true to both the budget strategy and the clients’ evolving vision.

The full kitchen remodel became the heart of the transformation. We reworked the layout to improve circulation and accommodate a large custom countertop—striking the perfect balance between workspace and open flow. To make the design cohesive, an interior window was removed, allowing for more cabinetry and better sightlines throughout the main living area.
Elsewhere in the home, dated bathrooms were refreshed with modern fixtures, warm finishes, and smart storage solutions that elevated both comfort and style. Throughout, we focused on bringing in natural light, softening transitions between rooms, and using durable yet design-forward materials that would stand the test of time.
